Christine turned even wiser this year. For her birthday she wanted to see if she can kill us both by hiking. She did not succeed this year but I am sure she will try harder next year. This year we did a hike from the Blueridge Parkway mm 299.5 - Boon Fork parking area - to the Grandfather mountain swinging bridge and back. ... "Just" 10.1 miles but extremely challenging. Rough terrain, ladders, ropes, 35 miles per hour winds with gusts of 60, wind chill of sub zero F ... it was great :-). We had a great time though and the hot tub at the VRBO we rented was awesome after that.
